The Office of the (Queen Mother) Akaliait

Toto Akaliait is the title given to the Queen mother of Iteso Kingdom. This office is currently blessed to be occupied by Her Royal Highness Toto Akaliait; Juliet Among Emolot. The office of Akaliait is part of the Iteso Cultural Union structure which is envisaged to provide effective mechanism and channels for the ICU’s development interventions.

Through the effort and support of ICU, Toto Akaliait (Her Royal Highness Toto Juliet Among Emolot) has been actively involved in making a positive difference in the lives of children, youth and women in Teso. In her role as Toto Akaliat, she strives to be unique by drawing on positive cultural values from the rich culture and traditions of the Iteso and balance these values with contemporary ones.
